Feeling old isn’t an age problem

Table of Contents

Hello Sunday morning…..

Sunday mornings always feel a little reflective to me.

A chance to look at where you’re headed.

What’s working.

What’s not.

And whether you’re moving toward the life you want… or quietly drifting away from it.

A few years ago, I started noticing something I didn’t like.

It wasn’t just the extra weight I had gained during the pandemic.

It was the feeling that my life was getting smaller.

A few years ago, I started noticing something I didn’t like.

It wasn’t just the extra weight.

It was the feeling that my life was getting smaller.

I wasn’t doing as many hard things.

Not taking as many adventures.

Not pushing myself physically.

And whether we realize it or not, that’s often how decline begins.

Not with some dramatic event.

Just a slow drift.

A little less movement.

A little less challenge.

A little less confidence.

Recently, I’ve been talking with women who have had very successful careers, raised families, built businesses, and accomplished a lot in life.

But now they’re worried.

One woman admitted she barely walks these days and feels herself declining much faster than she’d expected.

Honestly, I understand.

A few years ago, I could feel myself heading in that direction too.

I had gained weight.

My energy wasn’t where I wanted it to be.

And I was starting to act older before I actually was older.

At some point I made a decision.

I wasn’t going quietly into decline.

This morning’s video is about the 5 things I started doing that helped me lose weight and, more importantly, feel alive again.

Not younger because of some magic supplement.

Not younger because I found the perfect workout.

Alive because I started doing things that reminded me I was still capable.

One thing I mention in the video is that when I was a kid, I used to ride my bike everywhere.

And I mean everywhere.

I’d disappear for hours and ride to neighbouring towns. My mother would be furious when I finally got home.

Looking back, I think what I loved wasn’t the bike.

It was the freedom.

The adventure.

The feeling that life was big.

That’s something I never want to lose.

Question for you:

What’s one thing you’ve stopped doing that you’d love to start doing again if your health, confidence, and energy improved?

Hit reply and let me know.

I read every email.
